PANews reported on December 30 that according to the Financial Times, Nvidia plans to launch Jetson Thor, a new generation of compact computers designed for humanoid robots in the first half of 2025. This strategy aims to provide core technical support to hundreds of thousands of robot manufacturers around the world rather than directly competing with manufacturers such as Tesla.
Nvidia Vice President Deepu Talla said the move was made possible by the explosive development of generative AI models and breakthroughs in training robots through simulated environments. At the same time, it also responds to the trend of major customers such as Amazon and Google gradually reducing their dependence on Nvidia AI chips.
