US court orders forfeiture of approximately $2.5 million in cryptocurrencies tied to crypto scam

PANews reported on May 24 that according to the U.S. Department of Justice's official website, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ordered the confiscation of approximately $2.5 million worth of cryptocurrencies involved in a cryptocurrency trust scam. The case involved an investigation led by the FBI San Diego Branch, and the Department of Justice's Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Division assisted in the asset recovery. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro emphasized that the asset confiscation system will be used to deprive the proceeds of crime and compensate the victims.
