Chairman of the U.S. House Financial Services Oversight Subcommittee Declares Cryptocurrency “The Future”

PANews reported on June 6 that according to Cryptonews, Bill Huizenga, chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Oversight Subcommittee, publicly declared that cryptocurrency is the "future" at the "American Innovation and the Future of Digital Assets" hearing held on June 4. The Michigan Republican congressman emphasized: "We must establish a sound regulatory framework as soon as possible," and revealed that the CLARITY Act of 2025, which he participated in formulating, will provide a legal basis for this.

It is worth noting that Huizenga's statement came at the time when he announced his candidacy for the Michigan Senate seat in 2026. He will compete with former Congressman Mike Rogers, who also supports cryptocurrency. The hearing brought together industry representatives such as former SEC Commissioner Elad Roisman and Uniswap Chief Legal Officer Katherine Minarik, focusing on the construction of a regulatory framework for digital assets.
