The ETHChiangmai Future Summit is currently being held in Chiang Mai, showcasing two months of city-level Ethereum practice.

ETHChiangmai takes a "city-scale" approach to practice, connecting hackathons, unconferences, book clubs, and ongoing community activities through co-living, co-learning, and co-building, attempting to explore how Web3 can operate in the long term in real cities and local contexts.

ETHChiangmai held its Future Summit in Chiang Mai today. Prior to the Summit's opening, ETHChiangmai just concluded a five-day intensive hackathon, attracting over 120 developers, resulting in 44 projects and distributing a total of 11,500 USDT in prizes. Project areas covered DeFi, privacy and ZK technology, decentralized identity (ZK Card), as well as public goods, local collaboration, and art and cultural experiments, showcasing the diverse explorations of the Ethereum ecosystem at both technological and social levels.

This event marks a significant milestone in ETHChiangmai's two-month building season, which began on December 8, 2025. ETHChiangmai operates on an "urban scale," connecting hackathons, unconferences, book clubs, and ongoing community activities through co-living, co-learning, and co-building, attempting to explore how Web3 can operate sustainably in real-world urban and local contexts.

The ongoing Future Summit is not a conference in the traditional sense, but rather a phased response to this ongoing practice. The morning session revolved around Zuzalu as a method and Cypherpunk as a real-world survival skill, discussing how future societies are built and the practical significance of "permissionless" in the contemporary environment. The afternoon session further focused on Cosmolocalism (local construction × global collaboration), education and institutions, and, in conjunction with hackathon project presentations, discussed the evolution of Ethereum in terms of coordinators, organizations, and communities.

ETHChiangmai hopes to propose a path different from short-term conferences: viewing Ethereum as an ongoing social practice that allows the technology to be used, tested, and co-shaped locally.
