Akash Network announces deprecation of its proprietary Cosmos chain and initiates migration evaluation

PANews reported on October 13th that according to The Block, Akash Network founder Greg Osuri said the project will abandon its self-developed Cosmos SDK chain and migrate to a new network that can "protect Akash," with the goal of maintaining IBC compatibility. The team has not announced a timetable and will publicly evaluate chain candidates, emphasizing strong security, a high-quality community, deep liquidity and growth potential, while retaining integration with Osmosis, Keplr, and others. Osuri stated that the staking mechanism will "evolve to be better" and not limited to consensus security. The RFP will be released within a few weeks; Solana is called a "strong candidate." Akash will introduce Nvidia GPUs in Mainnet 6 in 2023, providing decentralized computing power and lower costs.
