剑桥大学发布的一份新报告称，过去四年来，服务提供商持有的加密资产账户数量增加了四倍，增加到目前1.91亿个账户。 2016年，只有4500万个帐户且只有500万唯一用户。根据该报告，自去年以来，用户数量增加了189％。该研究的作者说，这种增加可能是由于帐户数量的增加（增加了37％）以及与个人身份相关的帐户所占的比例更高所致。
