据actioncenter消息，电子前哨基金会（EFF）行动中心发布行动倡议称，美国众议院和参议院正在推动的《EARN IT》法案，将会破坏在线加密和言论自由。司法部长William Barr和美国司法部（DOJ）多年来一直要求消息传递服务给予政府特殊的访问权限侵入用户隐私消息。如果《EARN IT》法案通过，William Barr就会如愿以偿，即执法机构将能够扫描在线发送的每一条消息。该法案已经通过参议院，即将进入众议院，电子前哨基金会号召人们向国会提议必须拒绝这一危险的提议。
