Report: Web3 security incidents in January resulted in approximately $414 million in economic losses.

PANews reported on February 6th that, according to a recent report from GoPlus, Web3 suffered $414,639,606 in economic losses due to major security incidents in January 2026. These security incidents included smart contract vulnerabilities, social engineering attacks, phishing attacks, Ponzi schemes, and Rugpull attacks.

Of these, exploits (including contract attacks, social engineering fraud, and private key leaks) caused losses of $375,808,603 due to 20 major incidents. Phishing attacks resulted in total losses of approximately $20 million, affecting about 5,000 victims. 390 new HoneyPot tokens were detected on ETH, Base, and BSC during the month, a decrease compared to December.
