巴基斯坦信德省高等法院周四对联邦财政部没有就一份有关加密货币的请愿书发表评论表示不满，而巴基斯坦国家银行（State Bank of Pakistan，简称SBP）则表示，它从未宣布加密货币是非法的。由法官Mohammad Karim Khan Agha领导的两名法官一直在向SBP征求意见（直到1月13日为止），以询问巴基斯坦是否有任何法律禁止加密货币业务。法院还警告称，如果在下次听证会之前，财政部副检察官没有代表财政部提交上述意见，财政部长的将不得不亲自出面要求解释。 据悉，当时法院受理了一份请愿书，质疑据称“SBP于2018年4月发布禁止使用虚拟货币”的通知，并对财政部在上次听证会上没有提交意见表示不满，因为法院给了他们最后一次提交答复的机会。SBP联合董事Rehan Masood告知法官，他们从未宣布加密货币非法。法官指示他出席下一次听证会，并提交声明，说明是否有任何法律、规则或条例阻止巴基斯坦的加密货币业务。
