PANews reported on February 14 that according to the Wall Street Journal: US Vice President Cyril Vance said on Thursday that if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree to a peace agreement with Ukraine that guarantees Ukraine's long-term independence, the United States will impose sanctions on Russia and may take military action. If Russia fails to negotiate in good faith, the option of sending US troops to Ukraine remains "on the table."
