South Korean court issues arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-yeol on suspicion of civil unrest

PANews reported on December 31 that according to Xinhua News Agency, a South Korean court issued an arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-yeol on suspicion of civil unrest.

According to the South Korean Joint Investigation Headquarters, which is investigating the "emergency martial law" incident, the Seoul Western District Court approved the arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol, the first time in South Korea's constitutional history that a sitting president has been arrested. The arrest warrant is valid for seven days from the date of issuance, but it is still unknown when it will be executed and whether the presidential guard will cooperate.
