PANews reported on December 18 that the Bank of England lowered its benchmark interest rate from 4.00% to 3.75%, in line with market expectations. This followed the bank's pause in its quarterly rate cuts that had been in place since August 2024.
The Bank of England cut interest rates by 25 basis points as expected.
