Discovery, in partnership with Luno, launched the first in-app cryptocurrency trading service in South Africa.

PANews reported on November 14th that, according to Reuters, Discovery Bank (stock code: DSYJ.J) will become the first lending institution in South Africa to integrate cryptocurrency into its mobile platform. Starting in December, customers will be able to trade cryptocurrencies directly within its banking app. This feature is a collaboration with London-based cryptocurrency exchange Luno. Customers can link their existing accounts to Discovery Bank's digital banking app and buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrency assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

This digital bank, launched in 2021, achieved its first profit in the second half of the fiscal year ending June 30. Discovery Bank stated that its partnerships comply with local regulations and have robust safeguards in place.
