핀볼드가 엘립틱 커넥트(Elliptic Connect) 보고서를 인용, 최근 사기, 테러, 포르노 등 불법행위에 도지코인(DOGE)이 사용되는 사례가 증가하고 있다고 보도했다. 보고서는 "도지코인이 밈 코인으로 개발되었지만, 일론 머스크가 테슬라, 스페이스X 등에 도지코인 결제 도입을 언급하면서 코인의 가치가 크게 증가했다. 이에 따라 코인의 출처 및 결제 상대방에 대한 정보를 검증해야 할 필요성이 커졌다"고 설명했다.
