콜롬비아 새 정부, 리플랩스 협업 블록체인 토지 소유권 부여 프로젝트 "우선순위 아냐"

콜롬비아 정부가 8월 초 블록체인 토지 소유권 부여 프로젝트와 관련해 리플랩스(Ripple Labs)와 파트너십을 체결한 가운데, 이후 새로 취임한 구스타보 페트로 대통령이 해당 프로젝트를 진행하고 있지 않다고 포브스가 보도했다. 8월 초 당시 행정부의 정보통신부는 부동산 거래 공평성 제고를 위해 리플 렛저(Ripple Ledger)에 자산 소유권 등 부동산 관련 정보를 저장하는 프로젝트를 진행한다고 발표한 바 있다. 2016년 콜롬비아는 52년 동안 이어진 내전을 종결했으며, 이에 따라 재산 분배가 주요 문제로 제기됐다. 그러나 최근 출범한 새 정부는 해당 프로젝트가 2022년 국토부의 우선순위에 포함돼 있지 않다고 발표하는 등의 모습을 보이고 있다. 이와 관련해 콜롬비아 암호화폐 커뮤니티 블록체인 콜롬비아(Blockchain Colombia) 공동 창업자인 마우리시오 토바르(Mauricio Tovar)는 "해당 프로젝트가 이제 정치적으로 죽은 듯 보인다"고 평가했다.
