디크립트에 따르면 미국 공화당 소속 하원의원 톰 에머가 "CBDC(중앙은행 발행 디지털화폐)에 대한 미국 연방준비제도(Fed, 연준)의 권한을 제한하는 내용이 담긴 법안이 민주당으로부터도 적잖은 지지를 받고 있다"고 밝혔다. 그는 "지난 2월 제출한 이 법안은 당초 공동 발의자 명단에 의원 9명의 이름만 있었으나, 현재는 23명으로 늘어났다. 이들은 모두 공화당 소속이지만, 민주당에서도 지지를 얻고 있다. 단, 바이든 행정부가 이 법안에 대해 우호적인 것은 아니기 때문에 민주당 내부에서도 공개적인 지지 의사를 밝히지는 못하고 있다"고 설명했다.
