영국 인터넷 기반 시장조사 업체 유고브(YouGov)와 컨센시스의 공동 조사에 따르면 전세계인의 92%가 암호화폐에 대한 기본적인 지식을 갖추고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 해당 설문조사는 미주, 아시아, 유럽, 아프리카 대륙 15,000명의 개인을 대상으로 실시했으며, 응답자의 40%는 암호화폐가 미래 결제 수단이라고 답했으며, 31%는 미래 디지털 소유권으로, 25%는 스캠 수단이라고 답했다. 이외에도 암호화폐에 대해 가장 낙관적으로 전망한 국가는 나이지리아와 아르헨티나였으며, 부정적인 나라는 일본, 미국, 영국 등이었다고 컨센시스와 유고브는 설명했다.
