미국 뉴욕 지역 신문 아이티언타임스(haitiantimes)에 따르면 맨해튼 지방 법원이 상품 사기 혐의를 받고 있는 암호화폐 및 외환 거래 플랫폼 에미니FX(EminiFX)의 에디 알렉산드레(Eddy Alexandre) CEO에 징역 9년형을 선고했다. 에디 알렉산드레는 매주 최소 5%의 수익을 주겠다는 거짓 약속으로 2만5000명의 투자자에 투자를 권유했다. 앞서 그는 상품 사기 혐의를 인정하고 2억4880만 달러의 배상금을 지급하기로 한 바 있다.
