검찰 '불법영업' 수사에… 700만명 위믹스 지갑 막은 위메이드

조선비즈에 따르면 위메이드는 내달 25일부터 자체 가상자산 지갑 ‘플레이월렛’의 대한민국 IP 접속을 차단하고 한국어 지원을 제외한다. 플레이월렛은 위메이드에서 만든 블록체인 메인넷 위믹스 기반 지갑으로, 위믹스 블록체인 생태계에 속한 게임의 가상자산이 보관되며, 이를 위메이드가 발행한 가상자산 위믹스로도 교환할 수 있다. 앞서 남부지검은 지난 4월 플레이월렛과 위메이드가 개발한 DEX 피닉스덱스가 가상자산사업자(VASP) 신고를 하지 않았다는 단서를 잡고 수사에 착수한 바 있다.
