코인텔레그래프에 따르면 블록체인 보안 전문가 잭XBT(ZachXBT)는 “중국의 한 OTC(장외거래) 트레이더가 북한 해커집단 라자루스를 도와 1,700만 달러 규모의 자금세탁을 한 것으로 의심된다"고 전했다. 그러면서 “왕이총(Yicong Wang)이라는 이름의 이 트레이더는 지난 2022년부터 라자루스를 대신해 탈취 암호화폐를 현금으로 환전해온 것으로 추정된다. 실제로 이 트레이더가 소유한 것으로 보이는 한 주소는 테더가 피해자금 374,000 달러를 동결하기 전에 라자루스 그룹이 훔친 자금 1,700만 달러를 한 곳으로 모은 뒤 세탁한 정황도 파악했다"고 설명했다.
