도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령 당선인 팀이 백악관 내 첫 암호화폐 전담 직책 신설 방안을 검토 중인 것으로 알려진 가운데, 카르다노(ADA) 설립자 찰스 호스킨슨(Charles Hoskinson)이 X를 통해 "백악관 크립토 차르(Crypto-Czar, 암호화폐 총 책임자)직 적임자는 업계 내 단 한 명뿐이다. 그는 바로 코인베이스 CEO 브라이언 암스트롱"이라고 말했다. 이어 "해당 역할은 중립적이고 모든 프로토콜을 준수하며 암호화폐가 특별한 이유와 바이든 행정부의 잘못된 점을 깊이 이해하고 있는 인물이 맡아야 한다"며 "코인베이스는 암호화폐 업계 기둥 중 하나로 성장했으며 집행을 통한 불공정한 규제도 견뎌냈다"고 강조했다. 앞서 다수의 언론이 트럼프가 행정부 인선과 관련해 코인베이스 CEO 브라이언 암스트롱과 비공개 회동을 진행할 예정이라고 보도한 바 있다.
