이더리움 연구원, 레이어1 활용한 네이티브 롤업 설계 제안

이더리움(ETH) 재단 소속 연구원 저스틴 드레이크(Justin Drake)가 이더리움 기술 포럼 ethresear.ch에서 새로운 롤업 설계 방식인 네이티브 롤업(native rollups)을 제안했다. 드레이크는 "네이티브 롤업은 이더리움 레이어1 밸리데이터를 활용해 상태 전환 함수와 검증을 수행하는 방식으로 기존 옵티미스틱 롤업 또는 ZK롤업과는 근본적으로 다르다. 기존 롤업 시스템은 코드가 복잡하고 오류나 기타 취약점이 발생하기 쉽다. 네이티브 롤업의 경우 레이어1 밸리데이터가 증명을 처리하고 실행하기 때문에 유지보수나 복잡한 거버넌스 구조가 필요하지 않다. 이더리움 레이어1의 보안을 계승해 신뢰가 필요 없는(trustless) 구조를 실현할 수 있다"고 설명했다.
