코인데스크가 업계 관계자 발언을 인용, 씨티그룹 전 임원들이 설립한 스타트업 리시트 디포지터리(Receipts Depositary Corp, RDC)가 XRP 기반 증권을 출시할 계획이라고 보도했다. 기업은 미국증권거래소를 통해 ADR(미국주식예탁증서)와 유사한 예탁증서를 발행할 예정으로, 해당 상품은 1933년 증권법에 따라 자격을 갖춘 기관 투자자를 대상으로 제공된다. 때문에 증권거래위원회(SEC)의 승인이 필요하지 않다는 설명이다. 리시트 디포지터리는 현재 비트코인 및 이더리움 기반 증권 서비스를 제공하고 있다.
