코인텔레그래프에 따르면 미국 화이트칼라 범죄자의 사회 복귀를 돕는 시민단체 화이트칼라 서포트 그룹(White Collar Support Group) 전무이사 윌리엄 리볼시(William Livolsi)가 "FTX 설립자 샘 뱅크먼 프리드(SBF)가 실크로드 설립자 로스 울브리히트처럼 사면될 가능성은 희박하다"고 밝혔다. 그러면서 "SBF를 포함한 화이트칼라 범죄자들이 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령 당선 이후 사면을 위한 길을 모색하고 있지만, 사면 미처리 건수가 계속 늘어나고 있어 유죄 판결이 번복될 가능성이 낮아졌다. 두 사람 모두 암호화폐 업계에서 저명한 인물이지만, 개별 사건과 선고된 형량은 차이가 있다. 게다가 울브리히트의 사면은 트럼프 대통령의 정치적 공약과도 직접적으로 연결돼 있었다. 결국 SBF의 사면 결정에 영향을 미칠 요소를 아무도 정확히 알지 못한다"고 설명했다. 현재 SBF는 사기 등 복수 혐의로 25년형을 선고받고 브루클린 메트로폴리탄 구치소(MDC)에서 복역 중이다.
