코인베이스 전 최고기술책임자(CTO) 발라지 스리니바산(Balaji Srinivasan)이 X를 통해 "현재 미국 증권 시장에서 증권거래위원회(SEC)의 규제 영향으로 기업공개(IPO)와 인수합병(M&A)이 막혀 있는 가운데 증권형 토큰공개(STO)가 소규모 기업들의 새로운 자금 조달 방식이 될 수 있다"고 전망했다. 이어 "트럼프 행정부의 친 암호화폐 입장으로 블록체인 기반 자금 조달 모델은 더 매력적일 수 있고, STO는 상장 비용을 절감할 뿐 아니라 빅테크 기업과는 독립된 자금 공급원이 될 수 있다. 또 글로벌 투자자들에게도 참여할 기회를 제공하기도 한다는 장점이 있다"고 덧붙였다.
