알렉산드로 루카셴코 벨라루스 대통령이 자국 잉여 에너지를 암호화폐 채굴에 활용하는 방안을 고려 중이라고 코인데스크가 전했다. 루카셴코 대통령은 최근 미국의 암호화폐 친화적 행보를 언급하며, "세계에서 가장 큰 경제권인 미국에서 이 같은 행보를 지속한다면, (암호화폐) 수요가 커질 것이다. 우리는 전력이 남고 있다. 이익이 된다면 이를 암호화폐 채굴에 활용하는 게 좋다"고 알렉세이 쿠슈나렌코 국가 에너지장관에 밝혔다.
