미국 상원의원 테드 크루즈(Ted Cruz)가 연방준비제도(연준)의 CBDC 발행을 금지하는 법안을 26일(현지시간) 제출했다. 코인텔레그래프에 따르면 이는 CBDC 감시 금지 국가법(Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act)으로 연준이 CBDC의 핵심 구성요소인 특정 상품 혹은 서비스를 미국인에게 직접 제공하는 것을 금지하는 내용이다. 하원의원 톰 에머가 앞서 발의한 연준 CBDC 발행 제한법의 동반법안(Companion Bill)으로 간주될 수 있다는 설명이다.
