보스턴 연은 총재 수잔 콜린스가 파이낸셜타임즈(FT)와의 인터뷰에서 "심각한 시장 혼란이 발생할 경우 연준은 시장 안정화를 위해 조치를 취할 준비가 돼 있다"며 "다만 현재 상황에 긴급 금리 인하는 바람직한 대응책이 아니다"고 말했다. 그는 "현재 시장은 전반적인 유동성 문제 없이 정상적으로 운영되고 있다. 연준은 잠재적 어려움에 대처할 수단을 보유하고 있으며, 필요할 경우 이를 활용할 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
