15개 암호화폐 및 핀테크 기업이 미국 통화감독청(OCC)에 은행 인가(bank charter)를 신청했다고 크립토인아메리카 진행자 엘리노어 테렛이 전했다. 일부 기업은 연방준비제도(Fed)의 마스터 계좌에 보다 쉽게 접근하기 위한 전략의 일환으로 인가를 추진 중인 것으로 알려졌다.
