월터블룸버그에 따르면 중국 상무부가 공식 성명을 통해 “현재 미·중 간에 어떠한 경제 및 무역 협상도 진행되지 않고 있다. 협상이 진행되고 있다는 소식은 사실무근이다. 미국이 정말로 문제 해결 의지가 있다면, 중국에 대한 모든 일방적인 관세 조치를 먼저 철회해야 할 것”이라고 밝혔다. 앞서 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령은 미국과 중국이 매일 연락하고 있다고 언급한 바 있다.
