PANews reported on February 14 that according to Cryptoslate, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said that the crypto-friendly environment that is taking shape in the United States will be a "boost" for the company's business because stablecoins and tokenization bring many benefits compared to the traditional financial system. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Tenev praised this "system that encourages innovation" that will promote the development of Robinhood's traditional business and crypto business as well as other key areas of the trading platform.
Crypto trading has become a key part of Robinhood’s business, bringing in $358 million in transaction-based revenue, or 53% of total revenue. Regarding this business, Tenev confirmed that using stablecoins is one of the ways to facilitate the entry and exit between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, as this allows trading to continue without downtime. He also added that this also applies to regular trading, liquidity pools, and trading of traditionally illiquid private assets in addition to fund transfers. However, Tenev also warned that in order to compete with other ways to hold and trade dollars, stablecoins must generate yield. When asked about Robinhood’s recent plans for tokenization, Tenev said he believes tokenized private company stocks will resonate most with American investors.
