PANews reported on March 7 that the "2030 Lock" proposal proposed by Jupiter co-founder Meow is now open for voting. There will be three options for voting: 1. Agree, Meow will provide 280 million JUP in advance and lock it until 2030 in exchange for 220 million JUP rewards. 2. Disagree, 280 million JUP comes from the team's strategic reserve, and Meow's JUP will be unlocked as planned in June 2026. 3. Abstain. If option 1 is passed, but the community thinks it is not worth it, they can exercise the veto and adjust or cancel the reward.

According to Meow, Jupiter's new team members have been allocated about 280 million JUP (3-4 years vesting period), and initially, the plan was to release the required JUP from the team's strategic reserve. Now, Meow plans to pre-provision these tokens with its entire JUP allocation (283 million after deducting 30%), and take this opportunity to gain strong support from the DAO and the community, lock it for another 5 years, and in return, it can request a reward of 220 million JUP in 2030.

Meow said: “I want to have more ownership in the protocol I created and built from scratch. The 220 million JUP rewards from the community reserve, plus the 280 million JUP I will own, will give me 500 million JUP by 2030. This is equivalent to 7% of the current total supply. Considering that I created Jupiter from scratch, went through countless twists and turns over more than 4 years to get it to where it is today, and committed to lock it up for 5 years, I don’t think 7% is too much if Jupiter continues to perform well during this period.”
