Lily Liu: Solana is not just a technology network, but an emerging global capital and application infrastructure.
In her opening remarks at Breakpoint 2025, Solana Foundation Chair Lily Liu emphasized that Solana is not a single product or company, but a complete system that plays different roles for different participants: for validators and core developers, it is a high-speed, low-cost network; for application builders, it is a technology platform that supports product operation; and for asset issuers and investors, Solana is evolving into a native on-chain capital market.
Lily points out that the long-term prosperity of the Solana ecosystem depends on the simultaneous healthy development of its three layers: whether the network itself continues to become faster and cheaper, whether the application layer has a real business model, and whether the capital market is efficient and scalable. Only when all three parts are sustainable can Solana truly support global-scale applications and financial activities.
She stated that Solana is continuously pushing the boundaries of blockchain performance by increasing bandwidth, reducing latency, and optimizing infrastructure, preparing for the next phase of large-scale applications and financial scenarios.
