PANews reported on January 30 that, according to on-chain analyst Yu Jin, the "whale that shorted ASTER after CZ showed off his holdings" was only $28 away from being liquidated last time, but this time, when ETH fell below $2,700, his long positions worth $177 million were liquidated, resulting in a loss of $48.2 million.
He went long on ETH, XRP, and HYPE in November. In December, he was $28 away from the liquidation price. Later, ETH rebounded and he managed to break even after a floating loss of $44 million.
However, it finally collapsed today when ETH fell below $2,700, with long positions worth $177 million being liquidated, leaving positions worth $60 million remaining.
