Malaysia's national electricity company has lost more than $100 million due to illegal Bitcoin mining and other electricity theft

PANews reported on October 25 that according to the Malaysian Star, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Suhai Rizain said that since 2020, Malaysia's National Electricity Company (TNB) has lost more than 440 million ringgit (about 101 million US dollars) due to electricity theft, and so far this year, the company's losses due to electricity theft have reached 103 million ringgit. Illegal Bitcoin mining is behind most of the cases.
