Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba plans to raise the issue of North Korea stealing virtual currencies at the G7 summit

PANews reported on June 12 that according to a report by Kyodo News, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba plans to mention North Korea's theft of crypto assets (virtual currency) and other malicious cyber activities at the Group of Seven (G7) summit to be held in Canada from June 15 to 17, and emphasize the need for countries to work together to deal with it. North Korea is accused of using virtual currencies illegally obtained through cyber attacks as funds for the development of weapons of mass destruction. Ishiba's move is aimed at cutting off North Korea's source of funds through enhanced monitoring among multiple countries. Several government officials revealed the news on the 11th. This may be the first time that North Korea's theft of virtual currency has been mentioned at the G7 summit. Ishiba hopes to emphasize the importance of countermeasures at the meeting to discuss the situation in the Indo-Pacific region and call on countries to unite.
