Bitcoin blockchain used to secure Tennessee Republican convention vote

PANews reported on March 6 that according to Bitcoin Magazine, on March 4, 2025, the Williamson County Republican Party held a convention at the Franklin Marriott in the center of Williamson County, Tennessee. At the event, "real" Republicans (i.e., those who voted at least three times in the past four Republican primaries) voted for the future of the party's local leadership. The two campaign parties - Elevate and the Williamson County Republican Party - each proposed a list of eight candidates. The final voting results were submitted (added) to Bitcoin block 886,370 through Simple Proof's Immutable Proof service. Immutable Proof is an automated service that uses the OpenTimestamps protocol to help protect the integrity of public records.
