Fox reporter: Ripple lawsuit is more complicated than Coinbase because the judge has ordered it to pay a $125 million fine

According to PANews on February 21, Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett wrote on the X platform that the Ripple lawsuit is more complicated than Coinbase because they have received an order from District Judge Torres to pay a $125 million fine. According to the final judgment, Torres will retain jurisdiction over the case for one year (until August 7, 2025) to ensure that the terms of the order are met. Although the Securities and Exchange Commission can choose to abandon the appeal in the Second Circuit Court, they still need to find a way to approach the district court and reach an agreement on the penalty ruling (reduced penalties or requesting a waiver), which may be supported by Judge Torres, but all of this is subject to a degree of uncertainty, because as one legal person said: "We are now in unknown territory."
