25 French suspects to stand trial in cryptocurrency kidnapping

PANews reported on May 30 that according to AFP, 25 French suspects will be interrogated by a judge on May 30 for multiple kidnapping plots against cryptocurrency entrepreneurs. This week, police foiled a new kidnapping attempt in Nantes and arrested more than 20 people, including an attack on the pregnant daughter and grandson of Paymium co-founder Pierre Noizat.

The suspects are also suspected of involvement in other attempted kidnappings, and prosecutors will consider criminal conspiracy charges against them. The kidnappings have raised public concerns about the safety of cryptocurrency tycoons and have become a major embarrassment for the French government. The French interior minister had previously held an emergency meeting to announce enhanced security measures in the cryptocurrency sector.
