PANews reported on January 12 that Mempool data showed that miners dug out a half-empty block at Bitcoin height 878889, which was only 87 seconds away from the previous block height. Mempool founder @mononautical posted a message saying that all transactions in this unfilled f2pool block were broadcast in the last minute or so, indicating that the block maker node (re)started without the mempool.dat file or had not yet started loading it when requesting the template. The last time a similar incident occurred was at block height 855363, about five months ago.
