PANews reported on May 30 that according to an official announcement, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) will block unlicensed digital asset trading platforms such as Bybit, 1000X, CoinEx, OKX and XT.COM from June 28, 2025 in accordance with the Royal Decree on Technology Crime Prevention and Control 2025 (Version 2). The regulator said that after investigation, the above platforms were suspected of violating the Royal Decree on Digital Asset Business 2018 and operating without a license, and the case has been transferred to the Economic Crime Suppression Bureau for handling. The measure aims to protect investors and curb illegal platforms from becoming money laundering channels, and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will implement the network blockade. Thailand continues to tighten crypto regulation, and has added new enforcement powers for the Technology Crime Prevention and Control Decree in April 2025.
