Canadian police confirm cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi was killed

PANews reported on November 14 that according to The Block, Canadian law enforcement authorities determined that a body found in a Montreal park belonged to 25-year-old cryptocurrency KOL Kevin Mirshahi. Although Mirshahi had been suspected of being dead since August this year, the police eventually found and confirmed his body.

According to the Montreal Gazette, Mirshahi was kidnapped along with three other people from an apartment building in Old Montreal in late June. The next day, the others returned safe and sound, but Mirshahi was still missing. In August, police arrested a 32-year-old woman on suspicion of involvement in the kidnapping and Mirshahi's death. She faces charges including first-degree murder.

It is reported that Mirshahi owns and operates an investment company called Crypto Paradise Island. Quebec's investment regulator, the Autorité des marchés financiers, launched an investigation into the company in 2021. On July 4, 2024, the regulator banned Mirshahi, his company and two related persons from engaging in brokerage or investment advisory activities and securities transactions, and ordered them to delete social media posts.
