According to the Downdetector platform, the problem began on Thursday afternoon, and from 2:12 a.m. Friday Eastern Time, thousands of users reported login failures, private messages disappearing, and other failures. X's official engineering account said that the service performance has declined due to a data center outage, and the team is actively working to resolve it. According to Wired magazine, a fire broke out in a data center near Portland, Oregon, which X rented on Thursday, and it is not clear whether it is related to the outage.
