PANews reported on April 11 that according to Cryptonews, Russian logistics company ETE Group requested Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to allow domestic companies to use cryptocurrency payments in overseas trade. ETE called for the establishment of a regulatory framework for digital currency settlements with foreign suppliers and hoped that the government would amend relevant laws, including the Russian Civil Code and the Tax Code, as well as foreign exchange control laws. ETE pointed out that the business sector's interest in foreign cryptocurrency payments will increase by 40% in 2024, but the lack of a regulatory framework poses risks. The company believes that cryptocurrency payments can help solve foreign payment problems.
ETE also mentioned that sanctions against Russian financial institutions have hindered settlements with foreign suppliers, and inter-company payments between Russia and China, Kazakhstan and other countries often face delays, and the delay time is extended with the introduction of new sanctions. Russian law stipulates that cryptocurrencies cannot be used to pay for goods, and the ruble is the only official currency.
