Michael Saylor retweeted and spread false information about Trump’s stance on cryptocurrency taxation

PANews reported on October 31 that according to Cointelegraph, MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor seems to have been deceived by a social media post containing false information about Trump's stance on taxing cryptocurrencies. On October 30, Saylor quoted Trump in an X post to his more than 3.6 million followers, saying that cryptocurrencies should not be taxed and that "Bitcoin is money."

Upon investigation, the false quote originated from the X account Basedkarbon, which claimed in a post on October 28 that the Republican candidate made the above remarks in a "recent interview." Basedkarbon posted a comment on Saylor's post on October 30: "Cryptocurrency is not taxed is a microcosm of how information spreads. Things are true only because someone claims it is true. The whole world is people saying things and making them true."
