PANews reported on May 19 that Yu Xian, the founder of SlowMist, said that the "fake Ledger" scam has reappeared recently. Attackers mailed fake Ledger devices to users with fake instructions, guiding them to enter the mnemonics in the real Ledger into the fake application, resulting in asset theft. This attack method has been used as early as 2021, and there are also variants that commit fraud by pre-setting mnemonics or tampering with random number generators. Experts remind that although this type of physical phishing attack seems rare, the success rate is not low, and the targets are mostly high-net-worth users.
