ZachXBT questions Cetus’ hacker bounty program

PANews reported on May 24 that ZachXBT, an on-chain detective, questioned Cetus's hacker clue bounty mechanism. He pointed out that the fee structure of paying $5 million only when successful is extremely unreasonable and no capable company would accept it. Under this model, victims do not need to bear risks in advance, while assistants have to invest a lot of time and energy, and the risks and benefits are seriously unequal. This vague bounty is not conducive to the development of the industry. It seems to make the team take action, but it cannot effectively motivate capable people. ZachXBT believes that a fair salary structure should include two parts, one is hourly billing to compensate for the time invested in the early stage, and the other is to give a certain percentage of commission based on the successful results, which is also the practice of most top companies. In addition, he also mentioned that if the attacker is in a jurisdiction where law enforcement is difficult, or if law enforcement agencies fail to recover all funds when arresting, the fairness of these bounties is out of the question.
