PANews reported on February 13 that, according to foreign media reports, due to a Bithumb incident where a "unit error" led to the erroneous distribution of BTC to event winners, Coinone's partner KakaoBank and Upbit's partner K-Bank are closely evaluating and carefully considering the renewal of their real-name account contracts. KB Kookmin Bank, which also partners with Bithumb, has requested strengthened internal controls before renewing its contract next month, concerned about the potential spillover of reputational risks.
The Bithumb exchange's "accidental BTC payment" scandal escalates, prompting partner banks to become more cautious about renewing contracts.
