PANews reported on February 15 that, in response to reports that X would offer cryptocurrency trading, Nikita Bier, X's product manager, stated that X does not execute trades or act as a broker; it only provides financial data tools and trading links.

Previously, it was reported that X would launch the Smart Cashtags feature, which allows direct trading of crypto assets.
