PANews reported on February 15th, citing Cointelegraph, that venture capitalist Nic Carter warned on the "Bits and Bips" podcast that if Bitcoin developers fail to quickly implement quantum-resistant cryptography, institutions holding large amounts of Bitcoin (such as BlackRock) may "lose patience" and take action through "corporate takeovers" to "fire existing developers and bring in new ones." He stated that institutions will have no choice but to act if they find the structural risks of their assets unresolved.
Nic Carter: If the quantum risks are not resolved quickly, institutions may take over Bitcoin development.
